Removing Internet Explorer 9

A lot of people who have Windows Vista and Windows 7 have reported problems after installing Microsoft Internet Explorer 9, and do not know how to go back to the one they used before such as version 7 or 8. These problems have included web-based email being unable to send, and web pages drawing incorrectly. Others are upset that the search bar, which used to be in the upper right next to the address bar,  has been taken away from them.

Microsoft has made it extra difficult to turn back once a user has installed IE9, but it can be done. Internet Explorer will not appear under Uninstall or change a program unless you select View installed updates. Which is in the panel on the left of the page.

Once you do this, a new, much longer list of things you can remove will appear. Give it a minute, as it can take some time. Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 will be one of the things on this list , so you will be able to remove it. Doing this will also restore your previous version. If Windows Update tries to send you IE9 again, just unselect it. You can even right click on it and choose hide update if you do your updates manually.

You might want to try an alternative web browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Apple Safari if Internet Explorer continues to make your Internet experience frustrating.

If you use Windows XP, you do not have to worry about IE9, as version 8 is the newest that is offered for it.
